Takahashi's Tamaryokucha Green Tea from Japan
Takahashi's Tamaryokucha Green Tea is truly beautiful with loads of delicate complexity. There's a slight fruitiness paired with super enticing florals and a touch of sweet mango. It's lightly nutty, with the most intriguing texture. It's as if the liquor dances across your mouth.
This exceptional tea comes from Takahashi Tea, which has been producing organic tea in Oita since 2001. They were the first farm in the region to go completely chemical-free. Now in their second generation, the family specializes in tamaryokucha, a rare tea style that makes up only a small fraction of Japan's production. Tamaryokucha is a steamed Japanese green tea similar in many respects to sencha, but the leaves are left a bit curly instead of needle-like.
