Pink Crystalline Huaning Gaiwan (~110 ml)
The Pink Crystalline Huaning Gaiwans bring a bit of fun and levity, even to serious tea sessions. Each holds approximately 110ml and measures about 9.7cm wide and 8cm tall with the lid on (without the saucer). This size and this glaze make for a poppin' one or two person gongfu session.
Huaning pottery comes from Yunnan province and has over 600 years of history. Local potters still harvest clay from nearby hills and hand-blend their glazes from natural minerals. The tradition dates back to the Ming Dynasty, and Huaning pottery was once considered the finest in the ancient Dian kingdom.
A gaiwan gives you excellent control over your brewing. The glazed surface won't absorb flavors, so you can use it for any type of tea.
Since each gaiwan is handmade, the one you receive will be beautifully unique and won't look exactly like what's photographed.
