Firefly Black - Organically Grown Black Tea from Nepal
Firefly Black is fruit-forward in the best way, leading with plum, muscat grape, and a depth of dark fruit, all carried by a pleasing dark agave sweetness. It is medium bodied with a syrup-like feeling on the palate, very smooth from start to finish, with just a hint of crispness on the close to keep it lively. Its Nepali name, Junkiri, means firefly, and it makes for a warm, inviting cup.
Like our White Lotus, Firefly Black comes from Kalapani in the Panchthar district of eastern Nepal, a young garden high in the Himalayan foothills near Kanchenjunga, just across the ridgeline from Darjeeling. The bushes grow at roughly 2,000 meters on cool, misty slopes, and Kalapani has quickly built a reputation for expressive, characterful teas. The gardens are organically grown and recently certified.
