2026 Cloud and Mist Chinese Green Tea
This is a deeply fragrant, savory Chinese green tea made from tiny young leaves. The cup leans into a cooked vegetal character with a savory depth that edges toward miso, all carried by a silky, buttery finish that keeps everything feeling rounded rather than sharp. It is exceptionally well-integrated and balanced.
It comes from Jinping Village in Zhenghe County, Fujian, a region with a long tea history that once produced green tea destined for jasmine scenting before white tea took over locally around 2013. The producer, Cindy Chen, makes it in small batches each spring while in Zhenghe for white tea season. It does not carry the name recognition of some of the famous Chinese green teas, but for a savory, high-mountain green at this quality, it is highly recommended.
