2026 Lincang Wild Ya Bao White Tea Buds

Our 2026 Wild Ya Bao is extremely fragrant and refreshing. It's an unusual tea, but totally worth trying. The tea steeps basically clear, maybe a very pale color in the cup at best. But the aroma and mouthfeel on this are just gorgeous. The fragrance is a heady blend of flower, citrus, and a bit of pine with an incredibly silky mouthfeel and an exceptional finish. It's nearly impossible to steep incorrectly and has the added appeal of actually being caffeine-free, so you can sit down to a session in the evening without a second thought.

Wild Ya Bao is not like other white teas at all. It isn't even from the same species of tea tree we usually encounter in our normal tea adventures. The buds themselves are not technically leaves either. They are axillary shoots, the overwintering shoots that form along the branches of older tea trees, holding compressed leaf and stem material inside a protective covering. Left on the tree, the covering would peel back as the weather warms and the bud would open into a new length of branch. Harvested before that, they are simply sun-dried and become this captivating tea.
