2026 Big Red Robe Wuyi Oolong (Da Hong Pao)
This is a beautiful example of Big Red Robe Wuyi Oolong, one of the most famous teas in the world. This production is complex with gorgeous clarity and a deep, well-integrated charcoal roasting. The liquor is smooth and delicately sweet with a crisp mineral finish. One of our favorite yancha in recent years.
While Da Hong Pao is famous for its mother bushes which live in the Wuyishan National Park, modern Da Hong Pao is a blend of Qi Dan, Rou Gui, Que She, and other Wuyi varietals. A lot of the Da Hong Pao one finds on the market these day is a blend of over-roasted left over Wuyi rock tea. Not so with this one. It's a well-made, thoroughly enjoyable beauty.
