2025 Sung Village Ancient Forest Raw Puerh from Vietnam
2025 Sung Village Ancient Forest raw puerh is one of our favorite finds from our 2025 spring sourcing trip. We met an extraordinary man who has spent decades seeking out old growth tea trees in the mountains of Vietnam. He found a secret garden that has very old tea trees that virtually no one was making tea from. The trees are huge and healthy, picked properly and only once per year in the spring.
This tea has a very pure, sweet taste. It's light and a bit floral with fresh berry notes in the aroma. The tea becomes progressively more thick with each steeping, the fragrance rising effortlessly. An edge of light lemony astringency develops with later steepings, keeping the tea interesting and complex.
