We don't know as much about this puerh as we would like, but the it's quite delicious and has a fairly unique flavor profile. It was pressed in 2016 by a small operation named Jue Xiu Cha Ye out of Kunming. The producer says it was older trees, but who really knows in this case? The fermentation was light and the storage quite clean and likely on the drier side.
True to its name, there is a pronounced camphor aroma. We get loads of camphor with a a touch of cherry, vanilla, and a general incense vibe. Of course there are notes of older wood aromatics. It's a medium body, medium density tea with some minerality running through it.
Camphor is a highly sought after aroma in aged puerh, especially sheng (or raw) puerh. It's kind of like a minty note resting on old wood.
Each whole cake is 357 grams.
