2005 Dayi Golden Needle White Lotus Ripe Puerh
We're excited to offer the famous 2005 Dayi Golden Needle White Lotus ripe puerh in loose leaf form. This tea has a smooth, sweet character with soft wood tones rather than heavy earthiness. The medium-level fermentation gives it good body, and the bright red liquor delivers the creamy, thick mouthfeel characteristic of "palace-grade" teas made from buds. There is the distinctive delicate floral aroma (lotus) and with a lingering, delicious aftertaste.
Using grade 3 spring-picked material with moderate pile-fermentation, this 2005 501 batch won the gold medal at the 2nd China International Tea Expo and has been treasured as "modern daughter tea." This nickname references "Nu Er Cha" (Daughter Tea), a historical Qing Dynasty tribute tea from Yunnan made with tender young buds that was sent to the imperial court.
