Uji Tezumi Matcha 40g

Stone ground from hand-picked, canopy-shaded tencha grown along the fertile riverbanks of Uji, this ceremonial grade matcha has a strong personality that stands out in the crowd. Expect mild sweetness layered with complex umami and a character that evokes a walk through a quiet forest. The dry powder releases a subtly toasty aroma in a heated chawan. On the palate, the texture is smooth and creamy with mellow depth and no harsh bitterness.

Uji is the historic heart of Japanese matcha, where generations of farmers have refined the techniques of growing the highest grade tencha. This matcha is hand-picked (tezumi) from three prized Uji cultivars and canopy-shaded (tana) for 20 to 30 days before harvest. Stone ground on a traditional ishi-usu.
