  • 2025 Lung Vai Snow Shan Green Tea from Vietnam

From Lùng Vài Village in Hà Giang Province near Vietnam's border with China, this green tea is made from Snow Shan variety trees. Snow Shan translates to "Snow Mountain" and refers to ancient tea trees native to Vietnam that can tower over 20 meters tall and live for centuries.

This particular tea comes from newer garden plantings in the same area where 200-300 year old Snow Shan trees grow. The region has more wild Snow Shan trees than any other province in Vietnam, and the tea is harvested by local ethnic minority communities who have lived among those ancient trees for generations.

The dry leaves offer aromatics of sweet meadows, honey, and sweet rice. The tea brews to a gentle cup with fresh sweet meadow flavors and a touch of umami richness. It has good structure while remaining approachable and stays enjoyable even as it cools.
