SALIU Tea Canister in Light Black

This Japanese-made tin tea canister has a soft, muted light black finish that works in most kitchen settings. The 100g size (73mm diameter by 80mm tall) holds about 100 grams of Japanese sencha, though the amount it holds varies depending on the tea.

Made from tinplate with a steel inner lid, the canister blocks light, moisture, and odors effectively, making it useful for storing tea as well as coffee, spices, or other pantry staples that benefit from airtight protection. Most of the construction is done by hand in Japan, and the edges of both the lid and body are rolled inward to eliminate sharp metal edges—a small detail that shows up in daily use.

Care Instructions

Clean the canister with a well-wrung damp cloth and dry it thoroughly before storing tea as any remaining water droplets can cause rust. If rust does develop, stop using the canister, as it can transfer to other surfaces. Store only dry goods like tea, coffee, or spices inside; avoid liquids, salt, or anything that might introduce moisture. Hand wash and dry only—no dishwasher, microwave, or dryer.
