Mizota Matcha 30g

Stone milled from first-flush tencha grown in the renowned Yame region of Fukuoka, this premium matcha is delicate yet fully engaging. Expect soft florals and fruit supported by a gentle vegetal backbone. In a heated chawan, the dry powder releases an inviting aroma of roasted nuts. On the palate, the texture is exceptionally smooth with a balanced mild umami and very low bitterness. This really is a beautiful tea at fantastic price. 

This matcha comes from Unoike Seicha, the Mizota family's tea factory in Yame. Chisako Mizota began farming tea with her husband in the 1950s, and after he won the top prize at the All Japan Green Tea Competition, their teas gained national recognition. The family has since earned first place finishes at the All Kyushu Green Tea Competition and swept the Yame City tea plantation awards. Now in her late 80s, Chisako remains involved in the business while her grandsons continue the family tradition.
