Kaley Green Tea Cigars with Cinnamon Leaf

These Ceylon Green Tea cigars from Kaley Tea are delightful!  They're fresh and smooth tasting and the cinnamon leaf is extremely well balanced against the green tea.  The use of cinnamon leaf as opposed to cinnamon bark makes for a more subtle, nuanced cinnamon note.  Cinnamon leaf is also a very natural pairing for this tea, as cinnamon trees grow all over Kaley Tea Garden, right next to the tea plants. 

The 'cigar' format for the tea makes steeping these a breeze.  Essentially, they're like made to be as easy as a tea bag but with vastly better tea than what one can find in a tea bag format.  Each cigar is for about 300 ml of water (more or less) and can be re-steeped two or three times.  

Kaley Tea is making some very creative, super clean Sri Lankan teas on their land.  They take an very regenerative and biodiverse approach to growing tea, carefully preserving the 23 acres of rainforest on their land and converting their tea fields to agro-forests.  Kaley is a member of the Ceylon Artisanal Tea Association (CATA), and as such uses no agrochemicals on their property at all.
