Japanese Chashaku from Suikaen - Shiratake White Bamboo Matcha Scoop

The Suikaen Tanimura Yasuburo Shiratake White Bamboo Chashaku is a traditional matcha scoop from Suikaen workshop in Takayama, Nara. The workshop is led by Yasaburo Tanimura, a 25th generation chasen craftsman continuing a 500-year family tradition.

Made from shiratake (white bamboo) using traditional methods without machines or chemicals. The bamboo is harvested in winter after 2-3 years of growth, boiled to remove oils, dried in cold winter air, then aged for another 2-3 years to achieve its white color. Each chashaku is entirely handcrafted in Takayama village.

Length: ~18.5 cm

Care: Rinse with water after each use (no soap needed) and dry completely. Store in moderate humidity away from extreme temperatures and direct sunlight. Do not put in dishwasher.  Changes in temperature and/or humidity may cause cracking.
