Galaxy Huaning Gaiwan (~125 ml)

These Galaxy Huaning Gaiwans are beautiful handmade pieces. The glaze varies from piece to piece - some lean more purple while others show deeper blues. Each holds approximately 125ml and measures about 10.25cm wide and 8cm tall with the lid on. Brewing tea with handmade teaware makes the experience more enjoyable, and these are excellent pieces to add to your gongfu setup.

Huaning pottery comes from Yunnan province and has over 600 years of history. Local potters still harvest clay from nearby hills and hand-blend their glazes from natural minerals. The tradition dates back to the Ming Dynasty, and Huaning pottery was once considered the finest in the ancient Dian kingdom.

A gaiwan gives you excellent control over your brewing. The glazed surface won't absorb flavors, so you can use it for any type of tea. This makes a great investment in your gongfu tea ware collection.

We have several gaiwans in this glaze family - the photos show some of them, but since each is handmade, the one you receive will be beautifully unique and won't look exactly like what's photographed.
