Earl Grey Decaf
Earl Grey is most likely the best known flavored tea in the world. It is a combination of bergamot and black tea. Bergamot is a citrus fruit grown in the Mediterranean, mostly in Calabria, which is the southernmost part of the Italian mainland. The fruit is somewhere between a lime and a grapefruit in taste. But the fruit is not used in the tea. It is the oil from the peel. This oil is very fragrant and combines beautifully with other fragrances, which is why it is used extensively in the perfume industry. In fact the original eau de cologne used bergamot oil in its list of ingredients. It combines beautifully with our decaffeinated black tea to create one of the truly great flavored teas of the world.
CO2 decaffeinated black tea, bergamot
Use 2 grams of tea for every 6 ounces of water. Generally this works out to a teaspoon per every 6 ounces of water. Steep for 3 minutes with boiling water. This tea is tasty as is or with sweetener. We do not recommend this tea with milk as the bergamot, being a citrus, may cause the milk to curdle.
