The fragrance jumps out at you with the very first steep, which is precisely what you want in a dancong oolong. Enticing aromatics, low to no bitterness, and a rich mouthfeel.
The name "Duck Shit" comes from ya shi xiang, which translates to "duck shit fragrance," though some prefer calling it yin hua xiang, or honeysuckle fragrance, which is quite a bit more accurate as to what's actually in the cup. The unfortunate moniker has several origin stories. Some say a farmer wanted to discourage tea thieves, others claim it refers to the yellowish soil that resembles duck poop.
