  • 2025 Tsuyuhikari Kabusecha Japanese Green Tea

This distinctive single cultivar Japanese green tea features the Tsuyuhikari cultivar. Tsuyuhikari, meaning "dew light," is a cross between Shizu-7132 and the famous Asatsuyu. This selection showcases rich, verdant umami with refreshing pine notes and deep, dark green liquor. It's both kabusecha-style, meaning the plants were shaded for about a week or longer before harvest, and fukamushi-style, meaning it's been longer steamed to accentuate umami, sweetness, and color.

Developed in Shizuoka, Tsuyuhikari produces teas with exceptional umami depth and fresh, floral aromatics. The combination of shading and extended steaming creates a tea that sits between sencha and gyokuro—offering substantial richness without being overwhelming.

Each bag is 100 grams. Harvested April 2025.
