2025 Koshun Japanese Black Tea from Iwata
Aromatic Japanese black tea with a meadow-fresh quality and gentle sweetness. Made from Koshun, a Shizuoka-bred cultivar known for its distinctive fragrance and milky, almond-like character. Originally developed for sencha, Koshun has proven wonderfully adaptable to oxidized teas, and this wakoucha showcases that versatility.
The moderate oxidation and careful roasting bring out notes of candied stone fruit (think apricot and peach) alongside the cultivar's signature almond notes. The cup is smooth and approachable with very little astringency, finishing clean with a lingering sweetness.
Grown without pesticides.
