2018 Xiaguan Xiao Fa Ripe Tuo (250 grams)
The Xiao Fa Tuo is a classic Xiaguan production that's been around since 1975, when it became China's first puerh export to France (hence the name, which literally means "Sell to France"). This 2018 pressing follows the traditional 7663 recipe—the same tea that typically comes in Xiaguan's iconic round boxes, though this particular vintage comes in a special decorative box.
Our tasting notes indicate this is distinctly cherry-forward ripe with fragrant tree bark notes and a smooth, light-bodied character that makes it a very easy drinker. This is a reliable workhorse, not hugely complex, but solid and quite affordable.
