TSR House Chai (Organic)
The British had great luck selling their black tea from India in Britain and other countries, but one day they woke up to the fact that the Indian population did not drink tea. They developed a campaign to get the Indians to drink the tea grown in their own country. Well, it worked, but the Indians did it their way. Thank goodness, because they came up with the brilliant and delicious invention of chai.
Chai actually means tea in India. So if you say chai tea you are in fact saying “tea tea.” Such is life. Our House Chai is a great example of what a classic chai is like. When you order it, be sure to read the instructions for how we make it on the back. It is not made the way one typically makes tea in the west.
All organic: black tea, cardamom, cinnamon, ginger, black pepper, cloves
Bring 8 oz of water to a boil. Add 1 TBSP chai and 1 TBSP honey. Reduce heat and simmer for 7 minutes. Strain, add 8 oz hot or cold milk or milk alternative.
