Honey Aroma Red Oolong from Shan Lin Xi

This gorgeous tea is a honey aroma style (or mixiang) red oolong from 1200 m elevation.  Made from hand-picked Qing Xin plants, the honey character is rich and wild, with a round fruitiness and a lightly syrupy texture. 

The mixiang quality for high grown teas is rare - and a gentle reminder to take your time with this tea.  The 'red' in 'red oolong' means that this tea is quite a bit more oxidized and developed than a traditional high mountain oolong.  It's leaning more towards the realm of Oriental Beauty in terms of its oxidation level.  This lends it that rich fruitiness and more developed color.
