Moon Drops

The name "Moon Drops" is a cute nod to this tea's origins from the exceptional Jun Chiyabari ("Moonlit Tea Garden") estate in Nepal's eastern Dhankuta district. It's a 2021 oolong using a blend of Japanese and Taiwanese cultivars grown in their high-elevation Himalayan terroir.

We purchased this organic production in 2021, but decided to experiment and put it away for a few years of rest and aging. The flavors and aromatics are now deep, smooth, and concentrated. The dry leaves still give off intense fruity aromas. When brewed, the golden liquor offers notes of juicy ripe peach, apricot jam, summer flowers, and an underlying honeyed sweetness. The texture is luxuriously silky.

Originally featured in a recent Monthly Tea Club, we have a small supply of this delicious 2021 "Moon Drops" oolong remaining.
