Ying Hong #9 - Black Tea from Guangdong Province

Ying Hong #9 (also known as Ying De Hong Cha) is a prizewinning tea developed in the late 1950s in Guangdong Province. The cultivar comes from a cross between the Yunnan Assamica tree and a native Guangdong Big Leaf bush.  Generally this type of tea stays in China for domestic sale, so Ying Hong #9 is not well know in the states.

Ying Hong steeps sweet, with caramel or cooked sugar aroma and a beautiful deep fruit flavor.  The tea is rich with medium viscosity - very easy to enjoy.
