This sencha from Uji is made from the Goko cultivar
, which is often used for making gyokuro and matcha. An unshaded sencha made from Goko is fairly unusual, which is a pity because it is delightful.
This tea steeps very fresh tasting, with a vibrant thickness to the liqour. It is sweet and clean tasting with friendly, floral notes and an even astringency.
