Uji Goko Sencha from Japan

This sencha from Uji is made from the Goko cultivar, which is often used for making gyokuro and matcha.  An unshaded sencha made from Goko is fairly unusual, which is a pity because it is delightful.

This tea steeps very fresh tasting, with a vibrant thickness to the liqour.  It is sweet and clean tasting with friendly, floral notes and an even astringency.
