Rising Phoenix is a go to, high quality tea for us. Chinese green teas, in our opinion, generally come in two broad flavor profiles if they are well made: light/sweet/mild/fresh/meadow-y OR nutty/vegetal/medium-bodied/buttery. Rising Phoenix is an excellent example of the latter type. Extremely satisfying with some heft, but by no means bitter.
A delicious tea from Guizhou Province. This province is in a beautiful subtropical area of China well known for its fine teas within China. It is a rare treat to find these teas outside of China.
Note the white in the dry leaf. That indicates that tips are used in the tea, which add flavor and give a smooth feel to the tea. This tea has been dried over charcoal.
