Red Water Oolong from Hunan

Red Water Oolong is a gorgeous tea from an unusual origin, Hunan Province in China.  The tea is beautifully jammy, with notes of dark fruits and a concentrated sweetness that lingers in the finish.

Oolongs are a very diverse family of tea, and their oxidation level can be from a minimally oxidized high mountain oolong, which presents very fresh and green, to a highly oxidized oriental beauty, which presents with a darker liquor and darker notes of fruit and honey.   Red Water Oolongs indicate that the tea is on the more oxidized spectrum, getting nearer to the family of black tea, and that their tea liquor will be darker like a 'red water' with a more prominent ripe fruit quality.
