Lumbini Extra Special Silver Tip
The Lumbini Tea Factory in Ruhuna, Sri Lanka has won many awards for excellence and is known for its environmentalism, sustainability, and safe practices.
This low-grown tea is an exceptionally fine tippy tea. Notice the silver and gold in the dry leaf. Those are tips. They occur when the tea has a lot of unopened leaf buds in it. Because those unopened leaf buds lack chlorophyll, which causes the tea to turn black when it oxidizes, they turn gold and silver. Tippiness gives tea a smoother taste. If you love a strong but smooth flavor to your black tea, this is the tea for you.
Use 2 grams of tea for every 6 ounces of water. Generally this works out to a teaspoon per every 6 ounces of water. Steep for 4 minutes with boiling water. This tea is tasty as is or with milk and/or sweetener.
