Our Indian Masala Chai blends strong CTC style tea (which steeps quick, dark, and robust) with classic chai spices including cinnamon, clove, ginger, cardamom, and black pepper. This is a bit of a stronger, heavier chai than our House Chai- it's excellent made stove top style.
To make this chai stove top style, use approximately one tablespoon of dry chai tea for every 5 ounces of liquid. The liquid ratio is approximately half milk of choice and half water. Heat the milk and water on the stove until just under boil. When it gets to just under a boil, add your dry tea. Reduce the heat before you get to a boil otherwise your tea will spill over your pot and cause a big hot mess. Add sugar, honey, or maple syrup to taste while the tea is cooking. Once the tea gets to your desired color then turn off the heat and strain the tea.
