Havukal First Flush Nilgiri
A humble tea that drinks like royalty. The flavor notes are of deep spice and molasses. It lends itself to milk and sweetener or to be drunk plain.
Nilgiri teas are from Southwestern India. Second flush Nilgiris are certainly the most popular of the Nilgiri teas, but this first flush may have you re-thinking that position. Nilgiris typically show with loads of heft and mouthfeel. This first flush has that heft and substance, but is a tad more gentle than it's second flush relatives.
Use 2 grams of tea for every 6 ounces of water. Generally this works out to a teaspoon per every 6 ounces of water. Steep for 4 minutes with boiling water. This tea is tasty as is or with milk and/or sweetener.
