This is a workshop to help you deepen and refine your gong fu tea skills. The goal is for you to better understand how different times and temperatures effect your tea during gong fu steeping. There are many opinions about how long and how hot to steep teas, so come dig in with us for an evening and get a chance to compare them all to each other across different successive steepings and different kinds of teas.
This workshop is a hands on learning experience - you'll be making and evaluating your own teas. We'll be working with three different kinds of tea that are commonly steeped gong fu to give you a chance to experiment across a few different genres.
We will be preparing all of the teas in gaiwans, so if you're not confident in your gaiwan skills, please arrive at 6:00 to get some instruction on preparing tea using a gaiwan and some practice time before we start really digging in to the testing.
The workshop runs from 6:30 to 8:30 (or 6:00 to 8:30 if you want to come early and get practice time using gaiwans). The location is The Steeping Room at 4400 N. Lamar Blvd, 78756.
Please note: tickets to this class are non-refundable.
