After a long absence, we're very pleased to have a few cakes of this 2021 White Moonlight back in rotation.
White Moonlight is a compressed tea from Jinggu Village, Simao Prefecture, called Yue Guang Bai.
The pick is one bud and one leaf and the tea is traditionally withered under moonlight, not sunlight, although 'moonlight' may just indicate that the withering takes place for very long time (up to 72 hours). Because the withering is done throughout the night with the cooler night air, the oxidation is extended, resulting in a rich tea that crosses genres. We've seen this kind of tea (yue guang bai) classified as white, puerh and "almost black."
The flavor is rich with no astringency. The qi is uplifting. This is a great tea to share with friends.
Grown at an altitude of 1500 meters, picked from trees between 100 and 300 years old.
No pesticides, herbicides, or chemical fertilizers were used to make this tea.
