  • 2010 Dayi 8582 Raw Puerh Cake

The 8582 raw puerh recipe from Dayi (aka Menghai) Tea Factory is another of their classic blends. 8582 has a strong character, nicely resinous and thick, with fruit and mineral notes in the taste and a significant transforming bitterness. Compared to its sibling 2010 cake, 7542, this 8582 is rounder, fuller, more intense, and shows fewer upfront camphor notes. Both are excellent teas to get to know, as they are considered touchstones in deepening one's knowledge of puerh generally.

This first batch of the year (001) has been aged in Taiwan until mid-2024. The characteristic rough edges of the 8582 recipe have now matured and rounded out nicely. While ready to drink now, this cake will also benefit from additional aging.

In our opinion, it's particularly advantageous to collect teas with a significant aging head start from places like Taiwan, Hong Kong, or Malaysia, as puerh tends to transform more rapidly when stored properly in these environments.

Each cake is approximately 357 grams.

Note: The wrappers show mild staining.
