This is a Bai Mu Dan (aka White Peony) grade white tea from 2017 pressed into cakes for aging. It's a great value for an early aged, clean white tea from Zhenghe, Fujian Province. Bai Mu Dan indicates a high level of silvery tips with tender leaves. It's the second highest grade of Fujianese white tea.
The tasting experience is floral, a bit thick and punchy, simultaneously sweet and minerally. The tea has a great body with a decent heft which makes it great for enjoying now or for further aging. This would also be a great tea to boil.
This tea passed the EU Maximum Residue Limit Restrictions.
