A bold, exquisitely beautiful tea with a big presence, Rou Gui Wuyi Oolong is one of the signature rock teas (also called yancha), from the Wuyi Mountains. Rou Gui is a specific varietal of plant that lends the tea a note of cassia or cinnamon, generally you notice it on the finish with that signature cinnamon-like sweetness.
The tea steeps warm and inviting, with a balanced deep roast and a lingering, relaxing aftertaste. There is a woodsy, grilled peach quality to it with the faintest hint of coconut.
2020 Harvest, grown within the Wuyi World Heritage Reserve. Charcoal roasted four times, making this a great candidate for aging. No pesticides are used in the production of this tea. Tea maker is Cindy Chen.
